Cliff Shaver wrote to me about this photo. He says "This picture is definitely of the 3rd Plt. Specific date unknown and must have been taken prior to May 67. Logic: I took my Medic with me when I left B Company. Of those facing the camera from the left are Frank Corona, Doc DePeal (cigarette hanging from mouth) and Sheril England sitting in front of the bunker, profile shot. The platoon surprised a group of NVA. They went through the packs and Mark found this NVA "Boonie" hat. He mailed it home, but we lost it through the years.

PJudge > I am not sure who this soldier is? Sometimes I look at the face and think he is my brother Mark and sometimes I am not sure. This picture is sometime between Nov66 and April67.

For some reason I have always thought this is a very sad photo. This is sometime very late in Mark's tour. He is a Spec 4 in this photo. He is very thin and has a short haircut. This is probably right after he went to Hawaii on R&R to visit my parents in June 1967. On the back of the photo he wrote "Spec 4 Charles Mark Judge".
